I was surprised to see people giving this product poor reviews based on the fact that "their pet hated it and wouldn't tolerate being brushed with it." My guess is, that's not the brush's fault. Most animals don't really like being brushed, period, and if one brushed anything like my mom used to brush my hair, I would hate it too.The product does what it says. My little sweetheart DID get brushed, even though he fought me tooth and nail the entire time. I was very careful to avoid pulling his fur and observed that the brush does not yank (it would, of course, yank just like any other brush will yank if the person wielding the brush isn't brushing correctly). My kitty has had a terrible shedding problem, and this brush removed the stingy baby fluffs that were lurking under his actual coat, forcing his regular coat up a bit and making his fur look almost spiky along his back.
