These blades worked fine on the two dogs I have to clip. The more expensive blades I was using never lasted more then one clipping anyway so I decided to use these for that one clipping. I'm going to order some more of these blades. NEXT Clip: Okay this is the update: Second time to cut dogs same blades and they still cuts the hair. They just surpassed what I get out of the more expensive blades. This review is from: Oster Cryogen-X Blade Size 40 (Misc.) Bought an Oster A5 clipper and it came with a #10 blade. I needed to use the guide combs since my dog is double-coated and very long. My friend (who is a groomer) told me I needed to use a #40 blade if I was going to use the guide combs...the guides do not work well with a #10 blade. The 40 blade is fantastic! It took me over 2 hours to get the job done and the blade was still cutting like new. I also used the Kool Lube spray as necessary, to keep the blade a good temp. My dog is not "professionally" groomed by any stretch, but he looks good and feels even better. Also, he loves lying on his side and letting me "massage" him with the clippers. He only stands up for the finishing touches on his tail and legs. I also bought a 5F and a 7F blade for finishing touches and his tummy. The #10 blade I use for his paws, top and bottom. The whole outfit is fantastic and was purchased from Amazon! Thanks Amazon! A must buy!!! I've used this tool, for about 6 months so far, on a long-haired Chow/Labrador mix and on a Corgi. They both shed like crazy and the undercoat is a serious challenge with the Chow. This grooming tool takes care of the undercoat like nothing I've ever used. It's also apparently less painful for the dogs, as it doesn't have the tendency to dig straight in like the Furminator, which I liked well enough before trying this one. I have the 16-blade version. It gets down deep and pulls the undercoat and dander OUT. The blades are much more robust than the Furminator, and there's no chance of bending. It's a VERY well-built device, and the rubber handle looks weird but feels good in the hand. I can't think of a single improvement I'd make. I will say that the first time you use this tool, try not to be too ambitious. We have a wolf hybrid with and undercoat so thick your hand gets lost when petting him. He needs a lot of brushing and sheds all season long. We've used traditional undercoat rakes and the furminator in the past neither of which he liked and both of which required a good hour of work. We've been using this for a few weeks and it's been like night and day. It's very gentle for one thing even when hitting a snag, like a chunk of pine pitch caught in his fur, thanks to the blades. Because the ends are curved it glides right through without irritating sensitive spots. It's very efficient at grabbing the loose undercoat too and we easily remove the same about of shed in 15 or 20 minutes that would take an hour with a rake or furminator simply because he doesn't fight it. We've also used it on a couple of our long haired cats and though they tolerate it better than a slicker the performance difference isn't as drastic as with the dog. And I used to get tuffs of hair all under my kitchen cabinets near the floor due to all the shedding-- with this food?? I HARDLY have as much lose hair around the house that I used too. I went from vacumming 3 canisters full to only 2 canisters of hair weekly. This food is awesome! It really works and my cats love it. I buy the indoor chicken flavor for adult cats. I no longer feel comfortable buying Nutro for my beloved felines. Shortly after we purchased some indoor Max Cat formula for them, our male cats started vomiting and having diarrhea. We gradually tapered off the Nutro and introduced some new stuff. The cats stopped having problems and were no longer vomiting or having loose stools. A couple months down the road our male cat started peeing in different places and wouldn't go in the litter box. We took him to the vet to find out he had a severe UTI and that this had been going on for 2-3 months. We traced it back to about the time we started feeding him this Nutro Indoor Cat formula. I feel this food is to blame for his severe UTI conditions. Perhaps it's not the only culprit, but considering the awful side effects, it might have been the top contributor.
